As part of Work Package 1 of the Erasmus+ KA220-HED "Trifold approach to circular economy: perspectives of academia, business and wider society", 2022-1-BG01-KA220-HED-000085464, the fourth Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) took place from 17-19th October, 2024 at the Faculty of Economics, University of Nis, Serbia. The participants in the workshop included representatives of four partner universities: D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics Svishtov, ARTIFEX University of Bucharest, Istanbul Esenyurt Üniversitesi and the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš. The TPM was organized by the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš, partner on this project, headed by Prof. Dr. Maja Ivanovic-Djukic, local project coordinator.
After the welcome speech by the dean of the Faculty of Economics University of NIs, Prof. Dr. Vladislav Marijanovic, the representative of the host institution, the local project coordinator Prof. Dr. Maja Ivanovic Djukic presented the agenda of the TPM and announced the accompanying activities for the next days. The project manager, Prof. Dr. Andrey Zahariev presented TPM objectives and participants` expectations and summarized the achievements within WP1.
Representatives from each partner presented the developed content, covering budget per each work package by category, and the documentation required for the final report. They provided a comprehensive overview of the implemented activities. All participants in the meeting took part in a discussion focused on goals and achieved results. The final day of the TPM was dedicated to future dissemination activities and target group outreach, as well as ensuring content consistency and alignment with implemented dissemination efforts.
The project partners representatives took part in the opening ceremony of the International scientific conference “Circular economy: trends and perspectives”. The keynote speeches featured Dr. Michael Dell, discussing "How Innovation Drives Circular Economy and Sustainability," and Dr. Eleftherios Thalassinos, exploring "The Relationship between Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Financial and Non-Financial Reporting in a European Country".
As part of the dissemination activities, a roundtable was organized with 100 students from the Faculty of Economics on the theme “Up-skilling Young People for Circular Entrepreneurship: Approach to Circular Economy from Perspective of Students”. During the session, the partners presented the project’s results, showcased team achievements, and highlighted best practices in circular economy from a national perspective. The Serbian editions of the teacher’s textbook, student’s repertory, and monographic intellectual output were officially introduced to the round table.
At the conclusion of the TPM, Prof. Dr. Vladislav Marjanovic, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš, awarded all participants certificates of participation. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Zahariev, through the Dean, presented the university library with paper copies of the project publications in English and Bulgarian:
