The second workshop under project CRCLEcon 2020-1-BG01-KA220-HED-000085464 "Trifold approach to circular economy: perspectives of academia, business and wider society" was held in the Romanian capital Bucharest in the period 18-20.05.2023. Host of the forum was Universitatea "Artifex" din Bucuresti. The topic of the seminar was "Branch specifics in circular economy".
Within the framework of the work program, a detailed review of the role of the Reference Book on Circular Economy for teachers and a discussion on the intended main objectives was made. Progress with writing the content of the individual chapters by the project partner teams was discussed. A brainstorming session was held on the branch specifics in the circular economy. Through presentations, representatives of the partners presented the interim results of their research.
Decisions were made to hold the third workshop in Serbia in the period 21-23.09.2023. The first administrative meeting of the local project coordinators was also scheduled, hosted by the "D. A. Tsenov” Academy of Economics, Svishtov in the period June 9-11, 2023. Rectors of partner universities from Svishtov, Istanbul and Bucharest, as well as delegations from Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania and Moldova took part in the work of the seminar. The ecological profile of the project was reinforced through a social program of the workshop, including an organized visit to a nature park in Bucharest and sightseeing of the Romanian capital.
The trilateral and bilateral academic partnership agreements signed at the level of rectors, deans and heads of departments can be considered as an added value of the workshop held under the Erasmus+ program. The delegations of the partners witnessed an awarding ceremony by Universitatea "Artifex" din Bucuresti of the honorary title "Professor Honorificus" to the rector of the "D. A. Tsenov" Academy of Economics Prof. Dr. Mariyana Bozhinova.
Project manager Prof. Dr. Andrey Zahariev presented LXX ANNIS jubilee plaques to the project partners and visiting professors-discussants. Holders of the plaque of honor became:
Professor Dr. Alexander Manole – Rector of Artifex University of Bucharest;
Professor Dr. Canan Hecer – Rector of Istanbul Esenyurt University;
Professor Dr. Maja Ivanovic Jukic – Project coordinator for Nis University;
Professor Dr. Serghei Ohrimenko, Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.
On behalf of the Svishtov delegation, through Prof. Dr. Stoyan Prodanov, head of the first Bulgarian academic school of finance, a ceremony was held awarding the commercial attaché of Bulgaria at the embassy in Bucharest, Dr. Ivaylo Marinov, with the Alumni Honor Award and an anniversary plaque LXX ANNIS.
The visiting rectors, deans and heads of departments signed the book of honor of the Universitatea "Artifex" din Bucuresti. The partners from Bucharest, Istanbul and Niš reported the final compositions of the teams for organizational management of the project to the institutional coordinator - "D. A. Tsenov” Academy of Economics. The teams of scientist to write the three work packages aimed at teachers, students and business were also announced.
